Great feedback and great work by our dedicated team!
Here’s a letter that was recently sent to us. We don’t do our job to be praised for it, we do it because we care about helping people at a time when they most need support and guidance, but it’s always nice to get feedback from our families to know we’re doing right by them.
‘On 22nd April, my Wife died quite unexpectedly. Having not thought bout such a thing, I didn’t know what to do.
Eventually, I decided upon specific points I wanted the funeral to address and drew up a short list of four, randomly selected, Funeral Service companies to approach for help and price.
Whilst my prime concern was price, (we didn’t carry any life insurance cover for such an eventuality), I also felt it necessary to be comfortable and confident with the people I entrusted this very personal and responsible work to.
The four prices quoted varied by £1000.00, for the basic service I specified. Had I specified a more elaborate funeral; no doubt the prices would have reflected an even greater price variance.
Affordable Family Funerals from Shiremoor, accepted my requests without trying to change or increase my ideas and provided me with exactly what I wanted, whilst making certain constructive suggestions, without pressurising me.
I found Kim and Kelsey to be both helpful and sympathetic to my situation and state of emotional discomfort brought about at this most traumatic time of my life.
I can’t speak highly enough of the service I received which far exceeded my expectations and would, without hesitation or reservation, recommend their service to anyone.’
We will always strive to do the best we can for the families that we serve within the North Tyneside area and continue to provide a dedicated, trustworthy service.
Firstly, we would just like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who came down to our Open Day!
It was great to see so many lovely faces.
So the obligatory cutting of the ribbon photos were taken. Complete with big red ribbon but unfortunately no giant pair of scissors! The responsibility fell to Sue Adams from the North Tyneside Disability Forum in Shiremoor to cut the ribbon.
After the ribbon cutting, it was time for tea and cake……with the odd sarnie thrown in for good measure! It was a chance for a good chin wag and to get to know the new faces that were there.
We had a good mixture of locals residents and people representing local organisations at the open day; North Tyneside Disability Forum, The Salvation Army, Bertram Grange Community Centre and Earsdon Methodist Church to name a few.
All monies raised on the day will be donated to a local organisation, yet to be decided.
We will continue our Community Coffee Morning once a fortnight so the next one will be Wednesday 10th May 11am – 1pm. We hope to see you all there!
So as the title suggests, we are having our official opening!
This will take place on Wednesday 26th April 2017 from 11am – 1pm.
We have invited local organisations such as community centres and churches. Everyone is invited and we hope to see a few new faces and old on the day.
We’ll provide the refreshments so all you need to do is turn up. There will be a selection of sandwiches and cakes and of course plenty of tea and coffee!
I know what some of you may be thinking….”I’m not going to a funeral home for a coffee morning, that’s weird!”. We’re a lovely bunch, honest. And most of us are (fairly) normal! We have amazing facilities at 80 South Street, including a large space upstairs which is where the coffee morning will be held.
Shiremoor has always been a place with strong community bonds. You know that you can rely on your neighbours to borrow a cup of sugar or just pop round for a cuppa and a natter. We’re planning to continue our Community Coffee Morning once a fortnight on a Wednesday and hope to become part of the local community. Our aim is to get everyone who attends the coffee morning to donate a small contribution towards their food and drinks and all of the money raised will be donated to local causes.
We hope to see you on the 26th April!
